Like other successful companies of the 90's, Standard & Best found its roots in the experiences of an older, established company that later returned to its roots, retreating from a venture that proved a poor fit for its core business.
"Skip" Nash, had been Product Manager of Compliance Services at Jubitz Fleet Services for nearly five years when they announced the conclusion of their transportation safety services in 1999.
Having been responsible for developing products and services to help motor carriers meet their federal and state transportation responsibilities during that time, Nash recognized the need to continue meeting those needs.
In an announcement co-signed by Nash as the new CEO of Standard & Best, and Jubitz's Executive Vice President, Larry Bauman, a new resource for carriers was brought to the marketplace.

| Skip Nash is a graduate of Warner Pacific College and former Compliance Services Product Manager for Jubitz Corporation. He served as President of the Oregon Trucking Associations Safety Management Council for six years, and currently serves in an elected Council position. He is frequently called upon to assist motor carriers in critical areas of USDOT safety compliance and has been a guest presenter at state-wide safety conferences as well as national professional associations' events.
